We are a bunch of photographers living in different cities and shooting on the same theme every week.

I am relly delayed in putting this up, but I want to keep this blog going. I went to a party a few weeks back, in Jerusalem, and the cops came. Instead of breaking up the party everyone moved into the woods and began to party on top of an old fire pit. Immediatly the air filled with dust and everyone was covered with it. No one stopped.

game faces

This week's theme was to shoot "group mentalities," or "cult behavior." For me, nothing says this more than sports. In Chicago.

I shot my first football game last week in Wheaton, Illinois. I never realized high school football was so intense.

The simple things

lockandkey
San Francisco's streets have filled my apartment. I've found expensive bookcases, not-so expensive couches and even this; a beautiful, barely used vintage cabinet, that wasn't too heavy to haul home.

Hayes Valley Farm's first harvest bathes in the early morning sun. The farm collective offers free produce to the public once a week and features daily free lunches for the homeless.

I LOVE: walking to work on a hot and sunny Friday morning

I went a little overboard with sun flares but it was a really hot and sunny morning and San Francisco as I walked to work through possibly the least scenic stretch of town. And even though these pictures highlight the ulgliness of the walk I am not even kidding when I say I love walking to work. I zone into my iPod and walk through a part of the city that I generally shun. And I get to see where all the little DPT cars get parked, YAY!

biking around brooklyn at night

I love biking around secluded areas of Brooklyn after the sun goes down. I throw my camera and tripod into my backpack and hop on my bike.

I love the solace of the industrial areas after everyone has gone home. On Tuesday I went to Gowanus after dinner.

Gowanus which recently was declared a Superfund site is more than just the industry and dirty canal that bares the same name. The neighborhood is filled with scenic bridges, interesting street art, and industrial lots.

grown to love

This past weekend I drove from Illinois to Ohio for the first family wedding in three years.

We passed through the fine state of Indiana, where they harness wind sweeping through the plains.

The enormous family cheerfully endured my father, a wildlife photographer, as he orchestrated his own set of family portraits, using his camouflaged tripod.

I used to avoid family weddings, but really have come to appreciate anyone related to me, as well as open bars and cake.

Things I really like

I spent the last few day in Tel Aviv. Saturday was Yom Kippur. Because of that pretty much the whole country shuts down. No businesses are open, no one can drive a car, and a lot of people fast. Seeing everything stop really helped me think about what I really like.
First, because everyone was fasting I realized, I love food and eating. What I really missed though were the amazing foods that are forbidden here, such as Bacon. Which is what I ate for Yom Yippur.

Another thing that I thought was really amazing about Yom Kippur is that there were no cars driving anywhere and there were people out in the streets everywhere. you never realize how loud cars can be till they all stop. I think that more countries should have a day like this where all of the streets are given back to the people.

Finally we made our way down to the beach. The weather was great, the water was warm, the sun was setting behind the clouds offering us a spectacular view, but without the soft sand between my toes it wouldn't have been the same.
